App Packaging for Intune
Feedback form is now closed.
Description:
Let's get in the way back machine and go back to the early 2000's, back in those days not too many vendors shipped .msi installers and we routinely had to package apps for SMS/ConfigMgr. It was a daunting task and we all hated it, from this hatred arose a special bread of IT guys known as "packagers", these tireless dudes made the lives of us SMS Admins easier because all they did was spend entire days in AdminStudio creating packages for us. Now back to the present.....Intune lacks a lot of the controls that we've had in MEMCM for the past 14 years or so which means we need to find creative solutions to control how apps are installed. Things like pre-requisites, ordering of application installs, copying files to folders etc. In this session, we will cover packaging apps using the Win32 Content Prep Tool as well as third-party tools for creating custom .msi files.

What you will learn:
  • How to create custom MSI files using Advanced Installer
  • How to create Win32 apps using PowerShell and the Win32 Content Prep Too
  • Why do we need to package apps for Intune
